Steve Mayo with Training 2000 Engineering Apprentices

Here at Houghton, we understand the importance of training – we continually look to develop our staff in-house and encourage growth and development in all of our workforce.

Working in the metal machining and metalworking fluids industry, we know that training starts early on, and development is continual throughout an engineer’s working life, to keep up at the forefront of technology.

We’re extremely proud to work with Lancashire based Training 2000, supplying our HOCUT 4940 metalworking coolant and HOUGHTO-MIX stand-alone coolant mixing station within their Fluidcare package.

Based in Blackburn, Training 2000 is a charitable trust established by a collection of Lancashire based businesses. Dedicated to delivering the best in work-based learning and training programmes, Training 2000 is now one of the largest Group Training Associations in England.

Our Metalworking Product Line Manager, Steve Rushton, enjoyed a day at Training 2000 the last month, parting his knowledge to 1st year engineering apprentices about the importance of machine coolant control and management, and how it can benefit production and aid a machines longevity.

At the end of the training session, the Training 2000 apprentices each received a Houghton ‘Introduction to Metal Working Fluids’ certificate to prove their competence in the field.
