The EMEA recognises Adam Frodsham for Operational ExcellencePosted on April 18, 2019
The outstanding contribution being made by Adam Frodsham, a rising Houghton star, has been recognised by Houghton EMEA. Beverley Houghton proudly accepted an EMEA Operational Excellence Award on Adam’s behalf at the recent Roadmap 2025 meeting in Budapest.
In 2018 Adam delivered savings in excess of €400,000, more than double his target savings for the year. This followed a comprehensive review and successful implementation of a UK Tier 2 sourcing strategy, leading to both consolidation of the existing supplier base as well as the identification of alternative suppliers.
This was a key contributor in delivering the required savings implicit in the Rolls-Royce service contract.
His areas of responsibility have since been extended, to include utilities, waste management and IT/communications procurement for our Old Trafford site in Manchester.
Additionally, Adam has assumed EU raw material category management for the alcohols family and provided invaluable support to the EU glycols benchmarking review. Furthermore, Adam played a major role in the successful T2 reach implementation program across all locations in Europe.
A JDE super-user, his hard work has also resulted in several major system, process and efficiency improvements. These include the introduction of auto e-mailing of purchase orders to suppliers, automated PO confirmation follow-up and unit of measure conversion for intercompany orders.
Working with customer service, commercial and the accounts teams, his design for a new way of managing freight charges to customers has been adopted in the UK. Thus, ensuring these savings are being passed on consistently to T2 customers.
He is now focusing his efforts on supporting several large FluidCare bids, including the recently successful Ford Dagenham and Bridgend bids. We look forward to publishing Adam’s continued successes for the foreseeable future.
